Two-time Emmy nominated make-up artist Michael Burnett has been creating special makeup effects in the film, television, and the haunt industries for more than 30 years. Michael has worked with academy award winning make-up artists Rick Baker, Greg Cannom and Michael Westmore. Michael’s film and television credits include, The Ben Stiller Show, Universal Soldier, The Forsaken, Star Trek Enterprise, Passions and Mad TV. Between the years of 1997-2016 Michael designed and ran the makeup department for Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights for 17 seasons, more than any other person. Today, Michael is the Director of design & development for FrightNight Studios, a Florida based company that creates makeup and effects for motion pictures, Television and Theme Parks including Bush Gardens, Disney, and Universal Studios both LA and Orlando

Class Description:
In this session, Special Makeup Effects Artist & Makeup Designer Michael Burnett will share the techniques and products used to create realistic, reusable masks from foam latex prosthetics. Michael will discuss choosing a character, putting the mask together and then finishing it. Hand painting as well as airbrushing and proper appliance application will all be covered and sources for the materials, products and equipment used will be provided.
